Dear Parents

Thank- you for your interest in my play school.

Growing Minds Play School opened in February 2013. It is situated in the Glen Anil area located off Umhlanga Rocks Drive or from the N2 Highway. A great amount of pride and passion is shown at all times from all the staff members of Growing Minds.

Growing Minds Play School is a place where the emphasis is on caring and sharing, where every learner is encouraged to ‘be the best he/she can be’ and to develop a sound knowledge of right and wrong.

The main focus is to offer a secure, safe, loving, happy and nurturing environment for all children. Children are guided to developing independence, self-discipline, self-respect and respect for others.
Growing Minds is a place where your child will experience safe play, endless fun and laughter and be taught the love of learning through play.

Weekly themes are taught which includes various activities, for example:

  • Playing with puzzles, games and educational toys e.g. Lego, wooden blocks, peg boards etc.
  • Formal and informal discussions – counting, weather, news, story time, nursery rhymes and poems
  • Music and movement – gross motor activities
  • Play dough, drawing, different painting techniques and threading

WORDS FROM PARENTS

Jordy was a part of Growing Minds for a year and a half. He grew in leaps and bounds in that time. The love that Aunty Danya and Aunty Maureen showed was homely.

Tracey runs a tight ship and that comes through in her teachers and right down to the kiddies. Manners are instilled and a good routine is kept.

Thank you Tracey and staff for the best start for our Jordy.

I would highly recommend Growing Minds Play School. This is a school where you know your child will get great care, lots of love and attention. Tracey is a wonderful and loving teacher who is highly qualified. I know my child is in the best hands when it comes to learning and getting a good head start before his foundation phase.

I think Growing Minds Play School is a great place for little toddlers to be in, my little girl Shreya Ramjathan is 18 months old and she has only been there just less than a month now, and she has settled in so nicely because of the personal love and attention she receives from Tracey and her family. I would personally like to thank Tracey for taking such good care of my baby and giving me peace of mind whilst I’m at work. I would recommend Growing Minds Play School to all parents because Tracey gives my baby lots of love and special care as if it were her own child and that’s what makes her school the best from the rest.

Growing Minds is a home away from home play school. Kids are given individual attention. Tracey really has a passion for working with kids and is excellent at it. Our little boy loves school and does not want to go home on some days, that says a lot.
Thanks Trace for all the hard work, love and attention given to my little boy. He is really made to feel special and loved and he learns a lot. Swimming lessons is also an added benefit.

Our son Parker joined Growing Minds Play School in October 2013 at the age of 15 months. I prepared myself for protesting and tears but since his very first day he has been nothing but happy to join Tracey and his friends each morning. He is always greeted with a big hug and lots of attention and happily trots off to start the day’s activities. His confidence, independence and ability have grown so much in his time with this caring and energetic teacher, who is passionate about what she does and treats the children like her own. I love that the daily activities stimulate the children in every aspect: they do creative activities, listen to stories, enjoy fantasy play, sing songs, and have plenty of time for free play in the beautiful shaded play area outside.
It is so comforting to know that while I’m at work my child is being cared for as well as he would be at home.

I signed up my son Connor, now 2.5 years old, for swimming lessons with Tracey when he was 20 months. My child was a mommy’s boy who wouldn’t go to anyone. I went dressed in my costume expecting to have to get in the pool with him, but much to my surprise he took to Tracey instantly. So much so that I was confident to start him at Growing Minds Play School shortly thereafter. He blossomed from the first week. Tracey gives so much personal attention to all the children and makes them feel special and loved (and to us Mom’s when we need it!). It helps put my mind at ease that my boy is so well cared for. He loves going to “Tracey’s house”, it’s like his second home.

Growing Minds Play School has been a blessing to me and my little boy. The warm welcome we received from Trace was overwhelming. My boy has learnt a lot in just a few months of starting there. Half of the time he wants to stay at school and not come home. That to me means that he is happy and well taken care of. Thank you Trace.
